Voices and Accents

One part of the course which I didn't think I enjoy but I did was the voices and accents. One of the tips I received in a masterclass was not to let the accent over power your performance. Accent's should be sideline to the emotional content behind the eyes. Plus a few of the simple exercises I learnt really have helped improve clarity.

Here is a short video of a few accents I tried out on the course.

Welcome

Alexandra has always been interested in story telling having been involved in Drama and Dance from a young age. Alexandra was a member of the Sherman Youth Theatre and was praised by director Philip Saville when she played Ariel in Arts Council for Wales Shakespeare Week.
Alexandra went on to study Drama and English Literature in University of Birmingham, whilst keeping her dancing as a passionate hobby.
Just one day after finishing her final exams, Alexandra spent 6 weeks as a female stand in for Helena Bonham Carter in a Ruby Films Production of Toast.
This was the start of her career behind the camera. She worked both on the floor and production in Cardiff - the home of Welsh drama. Alexandra worked for two years on Shine TV Merlin as well as completing dailies on Doctor Who and TV Mini-Series The Hollow Crown.
Often being roped in to be background and supporting artist work  - Alexandra took a chance to see what life is like on the other side of the lens. Alexandra has recently completed the Met Film School Act for Film run by writer / director Sarah Warren, and dances several times a week at renowned Dance Attic Fulham.
